Our next Pacific for People Advocacy Meeting is this coming Wednesday, 6/11 at Abbot square.
📅 Wednesday, June 11
🕠 5:45–6:45 PM
📍 Abbott Square on Cooper Street
Come be part of the conversation about the future of downtown Santa Cruz—one with more space for people, not just cars. We have a real opportunity to rally public support and encourage the City Council to launch a weekend pedestrian street on Cooper Street this summer. It’s a simple idea that could boost local businesses, build community, and make downtown more vibrant and walkable.
Everyone’s invited—bring your voice, meet your neighbors, and help shape something special for our city.
We hope to see you there!
Recently we've decided to add to our pedestrian street advocacy. Soon we'll push for the City of Santa Cruz to give micro-grants to Neighborhood Associations to have meetings and block parties across the city.
ZERO neighborhood associations currently meet in Santa Cruz!
Several other cities in California are beginning to provide this type of funding; e.g. Santa Monica gives up to $7,000 per year to neighborhood associations.
In these uncertain times, we believe that building local connections is more important than ever.
We’ve created a quick, 3-minute survey to help guide our message and strategy going forward. Your input would mean a lot:
Thanks for being part of this effort — let’s make Santa Cruz more connected, block by block.
